Present At PGRI's 77th Anniversary, Ganjar Calls Jokowi Can Be President Because Of Teacher Services

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said the quality and role of teachers should be the main focus. The knowledge given during school can be useful.

In fact, he gave an example of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who can occupy the current position because of the learning he received while studying.

This was conveyed by Ganjar when giving a speech at the commemoration of PGRI's 77th Anniversary and National Teacher's Day in Semarang, Central Java. Initially, he alluded to many students who were actually annoyed because they received many fierce duties and teachers.

"Sometimes for students, teachers are annoying. There are a lot of homework, its duties are piled up," said Ganjar in a YouTube broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Saturday, December 3.

Even so, Ganjar said, teachers have a big role in everyone's life. "But thanks to that, there is all Mr. Jokowi who can become president," he said.

"There am me who can stand here. There is the Minister (Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Nadiem Makarim), and there are all of us because of teachers," continued Ganjar.

This reason made him feel that education should be prioritized. Every development, said Ganjar, must be accompanied by improving the quality of education, including the teacher.

"Anyone who will carry out development must first build education. It is non-negotiable and the teacher who is the key holder of the quality or not of a generation," he said.

Furthermore, Ganjar said teachers do not only play a role in creating employees in the future. They must be able to explore different potentials in each child so that they can be useful in the future.

"Nothing requires students who are good at physics and mathematics, master the economy and geography. They have their own potential. Let it be with the choice," he concluded.
