Live Fit And Propert Test Candidate For TNI Commander Yudo Margono Calls Indonesian Security Conditions Stable

JAKARTA - The Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono underwent a fit and proper test at Commission I of the DPR, Friday, December 2. The new fit and proper test starts at around 13.50 WIB. Yudo's arrival to the DPR was accompanied by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Yudo was also accompanied by Army Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurrachman and KSAU Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo. In his initial presentation, Admiral Yudo Margono highlighted the world's geopolitics including the Russian and Ukrainian wars, the impact of climate change, disease outbreaks, cyber attacks, and the potential threat of food and energy scarcity. In the regional scope, Yudo pays attention to the instability of the Asia Pacific region as a result of tensions in the South China Sea region, the Korean peninsula conflict, and the recent potential for conflict between China and Taiwan. In addition, Yudo continued, there is strengthening of security cooperation between the United States, Australia, India, and Japan. As well as the emergence of the Aucus alliance between Australia, Britain and the United States to balance the strategy of the one-road belt initiative of the People's Republic of China. "In general, Indonesia's security conditions are quite stable, although the issue is still marked by prominent issues ranging from security disturbances in certain areas, IKN development plans, dynamics of political situations ahead of the 2024 democratic party, rising fuel prices and basic needs as well as accelerating handling COVID-19 and national economic recovery," said Yudo Margono in his presentation. Yudo then explained about his identity, the duties of the TNI commander and the function of the TNI. It is known, after the scheduled fit and proper test is completed at 16.00 WIB, Commission I of the DPR will visit the residence of Admiral Yudo Margono to verify factual. After that, Commission I of the DPR will hold an internal meeting to decide whether to accept or reject the results of the fit and proper test of Yudo Margono as a candidate for TNI Commander in Chief to replace General TNI Andika Perkasa.
