Indicators: The Highest Electability Of Ganjar Pranowo In The Simulation Of Voters Who Know Ganjar-Anies-Prabowo

JAKARTA - The Indicator survey institute released the results of a survey on the electability of prospective presidential candidates in the 2022 presidential election. In the simulation of three names based on the effects of popularity, Ganjar Pranowo is in the top position.

Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators, Burhanudin Muhtadi explained that this simulation involved two samples. First, all survey samples amounted to 1,220 respondents. Then there were 888 respondents who knew Ganjar, Anies Baswedan, and Prabowo Subianto.

As a result, Burhanudin said Ganjar's electability increased from simulations involving all samples which were only 33.9 percent.

"If it is assumed that the level of popularity has drawn between three names, then Ganjar Pranowo will strengthen to around 43 percent," said Burhanudin in a virtual press conference on YouTube Indicator, Thursday, December 1.

Meanwhile, Anies Baswedan, Burhanudin said that it did not change at around 32 percent, and Prabowo Subianto decreased to around 18.4 percent from 23.9 percent originally.

"The respondents who have not voted are around 6.6 percent," he said.

Furthermore, Burhanudin said that Ganjar's popularity increased quite significantly in the February period to April 2022.

"Greet likes Ganjar to always be higher, while the likes of Prabowo and Anies always seem to be tight," said Burhanudin.

Based on data from November 2022, respondents who knew or knew Ganjar had reached 76 percent, an increase of 13 percent compared to June 2021.

The Indicator Survey will be conducted from October 30 to November 5, 2022. The population of this survey is those who are 17 years old or older.

Sampling using the multistage random sampling method. In this survey, the number of samples is 1,220 people. The samples come from all provinces which are proportionally distributed.

Assuming a simple random sampling method, the sample size of 1,220 respondents had a margin of error (MoE) of around up to 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
