JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono inspected the Ciliwung drain project which is now being resumed. The project, which began in 2013, stalled when Anies Baswedan served as Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Heru and his staff, the Ministry of PUPR, and BBWSCC visited the entry point for water (inlet) in Bidara Cina, East Jakarta. Heru wants to ensure this project can continue after several years of stagnation.

"We are here to ensure that so far what has been hampered has not been running, we make sure it can run," Heru said at the location, Thursday, December 1.

Currently, the progress of the construction of the Ciliwung drain has reached 62 percent. Heru targets the giant culverts as far as 1.2 kilometers to be completed and operational by April next year.

"Here there are two outlets (dots of water), which are below the tunnel, are almost finished and its function is around February, March, or April at the latest," said Heru.

One problem that has not been resolved is land acquisition in the East Flood Canal (KBT) area, Kebon Nanas, East Jakarta as a point for sodetan outlets.

To speed up development, the government will again measure the location determination (penlok) of the outlet area where the land will be acquired.

Meanwhile, if the land acquisition process is disputed and ends in a dead end, the government will take consignment steps or entrust compensation costs for land acquisition to court and immediately intensify evictions.

"If there are disputed parties, then according to the rules we will carry out consignments and the project will continue," he said.

For information, the Ciliwung Sodetan project was worked on by the Ministry of PUPR. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is tasked with carrying out administrative processes, starting from socialization to affected communities to carrying out land acquisition. The Ciliwung drain is targeted to reduce the 60 cubic meter water flow.
