JAKARTA A chaotic aerial cable that stretches across Jalan Jatinegara Kaum, East Jakarta disturbs road users. The DKI Jakarta Highways Office received reports of taking action by cutting the cable.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Highways Agency, Hari Nugroho, said that the cutting of the aerial cable was a follow-up to Pergub Number 106 of 2019 concerning Guidelines for Implementing Utilities Network Infrastructure.

"For the East Jakarta area starting from Jatinegara Kaum, we will continue to explore other areas," said Hari Nugroho, quoted from Antara, Thursday, December 1.

Hari added that there were three kilometers of aerial cables cut on Jalan Jatinegara Kaum. And as many as 60 officers from the Highways Service were deployed to cut the aerial cables.

In addition, two ladder cars were also deployed to cut the aerial cables.

"Most fiber optic cables. PLN cables are still waiting because we can't cut it right away," said Hari.

Hari also said that before cutting the aerial cable, his party had sent a notification to the owner of the aerial cable to carry out the relocation.

"We have made a notification letter to be relocated for six months, so we cut it until the time period," said Hari.

Furthermore, he explained that currently his party has cut approximately 25 kilometers of aerial cables throughout the DKI Jakarta area.

He targets that within five years all areas in DKI Jakarta will be free from aerial cables.

"This is in order to support the aesthetic acceleration towards Jakarta Smart City, of course, we will continue to do this. This is not only East Jakarta but the entire region," said Hari.
