The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has placed a Population and Civil Registration Task Force (Dukcapil) at the location of the identification of the bodies of victims of the Cianjur earthquake.
The head of the Dukcapil Indersan Task Force said the Dukcapil Task Force also helped the National Police's DVI team record earthquake victims to make them more valid.
"The data continues to increase to 321 victims who died because a body was immediately buried by the family. So, to get more valid data on the deceased, we have placed two Dukcapil Task Force personnel in the hospital accompanying the DVI Team," said Indersan in a statement, Wednesday, November 30, quoted from Antara.
Indersan explained that the Dukcapil Task Force of the Ministry of Home Affairs continues to work to prepare death certificates for victims who died due to an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 in Cianjur Regency, West Java.
If the victim has been identified forensically by the Police DVI Team and the hospital has released a death certificate, then the death certificate can be issued.
"So that we no longer produce death data in the field with the ones we have issued the death certificate," added Indersan.
As of Sunday 27 November at 19.30 WIB, the Dukcapil Task Force of the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued 262 population documents, consisting of 21 death certificates, 136 family cards, and 105 electronic ID cards.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Dukcapil of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, has asked his staff to continue to proactively provide population document replacement services for residents affected by the Cianjur earthquake.
"Please be proactive, especially at the Dukcapil Office of West Java Province and Cianjur Regency Disdukcapil to coordinate with the Central Dukcapil Task Force Team. It is necessary to immediately carry out a service to issue death certificates without being asked by residents," said Zudan.
