Bonus Love Of IDR 309 Billion For ASEAN Paragames XI Athletes, Jokowi: As Far As I Remember The Gold Medal Of IDR 500 Million

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave a bonus of IDR 309 billion for Indonesian athletes competing in the 2022 ASEAN Paragames XI Surakarta.

"The government appreciates a bonus of Rp. 309 billion. What will the Minister of Youth and Sports (Minister of Youth and Sports) like later. As far as I remember, the gold medalists were Rp. 500 million, the amount was not small," said President Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace yard, Jakarta, Monday, November 28.

The President expressed his appreciation for the achievements achieved by the athletes for bringing Indonesia as the overall champion with a total of 425 medals in the multi-pronged sporting event for athletes with disabilities.

"The medals won were 425 medals in the form of 175 gold medals, 144 silver medals and 106 bronze medals. This is a number, a very large number. 425 medals, 175 gold, 144 silver and 106 bronze," said the President.

The President said the achievements of Indonesian athletes in ASEAN Paragames XI are a matter of pride and inspire the nation. He hopes that the achievements of winning the overall champion for Indonesia can continue in the ASEAN Paragames to XIII and XIII.

"Hopefully later in Asean Paralympic the 12th will continue to achieve this achievement," said the President.

On that occasion, the President was accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno and Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali.

Previously, Indonesia became the overall champion of ASEAN Paragames XI with 175 gold medals, 144 silver medals, 106 bronze medals. This achievement also exceeded the target set by Indonesia, namely 104 gold medals.

This multi-branch sports event for athletes with disabilities will be held in Surakarta, Central Java on July 30-6 August 2022. Indonesia mobilizes 324 athletes to compete in regional sports events every two years.
