JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Cianjur Regency Government in West Java Province deployed officers to distribute food and equipment assistance for residents affected by the earthquake in the Districts of Gekbrong and Mande.

According to a written statement from BNPB received in Cianjur, Sunday, the assistance distributed to Gekbrong District includes 200 packs of rice, 200 packs of sugar, 400 cans of fish, 200 packs of cooking oil, 200 blankets, 200 plastic buckets, 200 plastic stalls, and 200 mats.

The assistance distributed to earthquake victims in Mande District consisted of 500 kg of rice, 50 boxes of instant noodles, 40 gallons of mineral water, seven boxes of biscuits, 10 boxes of instant spices, one box of columnar, one box of side dishes, 62 mats, 25 boxes of diapers, 20 packages of cleaning, 50 pieces of clothing, 20 dozens of clothes, five boxes of sanitary napkins, one sack of blankets, and two sacks of women's clothes.

The Coordinator of the Logistics Recipient Team of the Cianjur Ruby Regency Government said that the distribution of aid was carried out based on a request submitted by the sub-district government whose area was affected by the earthquake.

"The request from the sub-district was first verified by the logistics team at the main post of the regent's pavilion, then we checked the warehouse and distributed it," he said.

He appreciated BNPB's support in distributing logistical assistance to sub-districts affected by the earthquake.

"On the first to the third day after the earthquake, it was quite difficult to distribute to the sub-district, but currently the distribution of aid is supported by pickup cars and trucks from BNPB," he said.
