JAKARTA - Bogor Mayor Bima Arya and his Deputy Dedie A. Rachim tested the local government's first electric motorbike with a motorcycle user community with the new power technology to welcome the new era of driving in the rainy city.

Bima Arya and his entourage tried out an electric motorbike in Bogor, Saturday, November 26, accompanied by the inauguration of the first public electric vehicle charging station (SPKLU) in Bogor City which was built by PT PLN Persero at Bogor City Hall.

The Mayor of Bogor also tried to charge motorbikes and cars at SPKLU to then carry out a convoy of stunting or stunting in children with the Bogor Raya electric motorcycle community.

The inauguration of the SPKLU and the introduction of electric vehicle motorcycles, said Bima Arya, are a new history of picking up futures with the use of electric vehicles.

"There must be pros and cons, but the president has ordered, and we will carry it out. We will pick up the future in Bogor City with an electric car and an electric service motorbike," he said, quoted from Antara.

Bima said that currently there are hundreds of electric vehicle users in Bogor City, even thousands of users. Currently, the Bogor City Government has also started using electric vehicles in stages starting with five electric motors and two electric cars.

Following up on Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Use of Electric Electric Vehicles (Battery Electric Vehicle) as an Operational Service Vehicle and/or Individual Vehicle of the Central Government and Regional Government Agencies Service, the Bogor City Government together with the local Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) have budgeted the purchase of two electric cars and five electric motorcycles as official vehicles for Rp1.8 billion in changes to the 2022 regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD).

The price of two electric cars is around 1.7 billion for the official car of the Mayor of Bogor and the Deputy Mayor of Bogor, while five electric motorbikes cost IDR 137.5 million per unit for the ranks of the service.

"The use is increasing, the community is growing, we are grateful that PLN has helped to build SPKLU, later there will be more and more. Automatically there will be more market demand. We see that the community has begun to shift and today we are conducting this socialization," he said.

According to Bima Arya, when trying an electric vehicle, this type of electric motor is comfortable to use in daily activities.

Meanwhile, regarding the resilience of electric vehicles from the description of their use, he said, it could last for years, just like most vehicles.

"So I am optimistic that many will convert. They can sell, buy new ones, or old motorbikes can be converted at a cost of around Rp. 7 million," he said.
