JAKARTA - The National Police's Center for Medicine and Health (Pusdokkes) provides an operating room for earthquake victims of 5.6 magnitudes in Cianjur Regency, West Java.

"Alhamdulillah, currently there are two operating rooms prepared. Previously there was only one operating room," said Head of the National Police Health Center Inspector General Pol. dr. Asep Hendradiana in Cianjur, Saturday, November 26.

Since the earthquake occurred until now, said Asep, there have been 31 earthquake victims who have been operated in rooms located not far from the point of the earthquake. Earthquake victims served range from minor injuries to serious injuries.

He hopes to make maximum use of the victim's operating room as well as treatment so that patients do not receive referrals to hospitals outside the Cianjur area.

"We hope that patients are not referred outside Cianjur for treatment. We bring this hospital closer to facilitate treatment and make it easier for families to visit," he said as quoted by Antara.

The National Police Health Center also deployed 247 medical personnel consisting of a team of specialist doctors, general practitioners, proficient nurses, and other health workers.

The National Police Health Center received support from the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) and various other relevant stakeholders to help victims of the Cianjur earthquake.

"So, based on the instructions of the President and the National Police Chief, we have deployed 247 medical personnel. We also get support from many parties, including from IDI," he said.

Asep also emphasized that all medicines and maintenance costs for residents who were victims of the Cianjur earthquake were free or free of charge.

"100 percent is free, no one is charged any fees. This is a form of government and police support for victims of the Cianjur earthquake," said Asep.
