JAKARTA - The Government of Finland and the Government of Spain are interested in collaborating with the Government of Indonesia to be involved in the development of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).

"IKN welcomes countries that want to work together to build the archipelago," said Head of the IKN Authority Bambang Susantono in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday, November 26, as reported by Antara.

Bambang added that previously there had been several countries that stated that they wanted to cooperate, such as Korea and Saudi Arabia.

"We are open to any investor to cooperate in certain sectors," he said.

The governments of Finland and Spain met with the Head of the IKN Authority, Bambang Susantono, to discuss cooperation in IKN development.

In the meeting which took place at the authority office, the Head of the Authority was accompanied by the Deputy for Green and Digital Transformation, the Authority Ali Berawi, and the Authority Secretary Achmad Jaka Santos Adiwijaya.

The two countries stated that they wanted to cooperate with the Indonesian government to be involved in IKN development.

Present represented Finland Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for International Trade of the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nina Vaskunlahti, Finnish Ambassador to Indonesia Pekka Kaihilatti, and 12 company representatives from Finland's Business, including from Betolar, KONE, and W wayrtsil

On that occasion, each company explained how they could contribute to IKN development.

Meanwhile, the meeting with Spain was attended by Spanish Ambassador Francisco Aguilera and Spain's Trade Attach Jose Angel Molero Gonzalez.

"We also moved our capital city in the past, and we hope to contribute to the IKN project," Aguilera said.

Aguilera also added that Spain is an expert in engineering and finance.
