South Tapanuli Police Return ODGJ Victims Of Persecution To His Family In Simalungun

JAKARTA - The South Tapanuli Resort Police (Tapsel) in collaboration with the Social Service, returned the mother of a person with a mental disorder (ODGJ) to her family in Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra.

The middle-aged woman named Leni Nurliati Br Saragih has disappeared from her home in Simalungun Regency three years ago.

"We have returned Leni's mother to her family in Simalungun," said South Tapanuli Police Chief AKBP Imam Zamroni, in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, November 26.

He said in the video circulating that teenagers were seen molesting a middle-aged woman suffering from ODGJ was Leni Nurliati.

Imam said that when the action went viral on social media (Medsos), thousands of netizens criticized and condemned the actions committed by a group of teenagers against the middle-aged woman.

"This indicates anger at the actions of the teenagers, who recorded the abuse of the victim and posted it," he said.

Previously, the South Tapanuli Police arrested five students who abused a middle-aged mother in South Tapanuli, North Sumatra.

"The five students are IH, ZA, VH, AR and RM, who are residents of Tapsel Regency," said South Tapanuli Police Chief AKBP Imam Zamroni, in a written statement, Monday, November 21.

Imam said that the five students who carried out the persecution in South Tapanuli on Saturday, November 19 that afternoon had the video gone viral and have now been arrested.

The video is about a group of students riding several motorbikes and suddenly stopping.

They talked to the mother, then a teenager was seen kicking her.

The police chief added that the teenagers were students at an upper-level school in Tapsel Regency, except for ASH who had graduated.

"Officers confiscated evidence in the form of two mobile phones belonging to ZA and IH as well as a motorcycle with police number T 3350 BK belonging to RM," said the South Tapanuli Police Chief.
