General Andika Perkasa Grieves Over The Death Of Deputy Chief Of Staff, Lieutenant General Herman Asaribab

JAKARTA - Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army (Wakasad) Lt. Gen. Herman Asaribab died at the Gatot Soebroto Central Army Hospital (RSPAD), Monday, December 14.

Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) General TNI Andika Perkasa along with the ranks of the Indonesian Army expressed their deep condolences for the death of Herman Asaribab.

"Hopefully the deeds of the deceased will be accepted by God Almighty," said TNI General Andika Perkasa as quoted by Antara.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Maj. Gen. Achmad Riad, said that the big family of the TNI Information Center also expressed their deep sorrow for the death of Deputy Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General TNI Herman Asaribab.

"Hopefully the deceased will be accepted by God and the family left behind will be given strength and fortitude. Aamiin," said

Lt. Gen. Herman Asaribab himself has not had the chance to hand over his position (Sertijab) as Wakasad to replace Lt. Gen. Fachrudin who is about to enter retirement.

"Yes, it was true (died) an hour ago. He died at around 13.40 WIB at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital," said the Head of the Indonesian Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Nefra Firdaus when confirmed by reporters in Jakarta.

The cause of the death of the former Cenderawasih Military Commander was due to illness after receiving treatment at the hospital.

Nefra did not explain what illness the three-star general was suffering from, whether he was infected with Covid-19 or not.

"Covid, not yet," he said.

Currently, said Nefra, the body is being rested at the Army Hospital and will be flown to Jayapura for burial.

"This is in accordance with the family's request. It is currently being taken care of," said Nefra.
