JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) presented the Head of Regional Communication and Information Center for the National Police, Kombes Bartholomeus I Made Oka Putra Pramono as a witness in the alleged bribery case for the removal of red notice with the defendant Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte.

During the trial, Kombes Bartholomeus said that the defendant had submitted a red notice on behalf of Joko Soegiarto Tjandra to the central Interpol in Lyon, France in 2020. However, the application was rejected on the grounds that there were conditions that were not met.

"At that time we were ordered by Kadivhubinter to issue a request for a red notice to Lyon," Bartholomeus said during a trial at the Tipikor Court, Central Jakarta, Monday, December 14.

Bartholomeus said that Interpol Lyon refused after several weeks to make the submission. The reason is that the requirements related to Joko Soegiarto's identity are incomplete.

"After 2-3 weeks stating that the red notice is still not issued because there are insufficient requirements, personal data," he said.

In addition, the submission of the request for red notice, said Bartholomeus, was a response letter to Interpol, which previously warned that Joko Tjandra's red notice status would expire in six months.

"Only a notification letter said that Joko Tjandra's red notice in 6 months would run out so an extension of January 2019 was requested," he said.

As for the alleged removal of red notice bribery, investigators named four people as suspects. They act as recipients and givers.

Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte and Brigadier General Prasetijo Utomo were named as suspects because they were suspected of being the recipients of bribes for the removal of red notice. Meanwhile, Tommy Sumardi and Djoko Tjandra were named as suspects on suspicion of giving bribes.

Joko Tjandra was charged with paying SGD200 thousand and USD270 thousand to Inspector General Napoleon and USD 150 thousand to Brigadier General Prasetijo.
