YOGYAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokkowi) has just appointed Guntur Hamzah as a new Constitutional Justice today, Wednesday, November 23. He became a Constitutional Justice replacing Aswanto. The following is Guntur Hamzah's profile.

Born on January 8, 1965, M. Guntur Hamzah was born in Makassar, South Sulawesi. Her childhood was spent in Makassar City. In that city she also studied elementary school at SD Negeri Komp. Butung, Makassar and graduated in 1976.

After that he continued his secondary education at SMP Irnas, Makassar. After that he continued to high school at SMA Negeri I, Makassar.

Guntur Hamzah received his title as a Bachelor of Law after he successfully completed his Strata-1 education at Hasanuddin University, Makassar. He successfully graduated at the Faculty of Law, Department of State Law (HTN) in 1988.

After graduating from S-1, Guntur Hamzah resumed his education. But this time it was not in Makassar City but in Bandung. S-2 education was pursued at Padjadjaran University for the Constitutional Law Study program and graduated in 1995.

Guntur Hamzah's S-3 study was taken at Airlangga University, Surabaya. He took the Doctoral program in the field of Law (DR) and successfully graduated in 2002 with the title of passing cum law.

Guntur Hamzah's career started in the academic field. Since 2006 he has been a Professor in the field of State Administration Law and Constitutional Law at the Unhas Faculty of Law.

Then in 2007 there was a mandate to establish Unhas academic cooperation with Faculty of Law, Economic and Governance Utrecht University, Netherlands.

His work in the academic world is quite a lot. Not only as a professor, he has also received other academic duties such as the Head of the Legal Section of State Administration (HAN) FH Unhas, and so on.

Prior to becoming a Constitutional Justice, Guntur Hamzah had also held another position. Quoted from mguntur.id, he served as Head of the Center for Pancasila and Constitutional Education, Constitutional Court in 2012-2013. After that he served as Head of the Center for Case Research and Study, Management of Information and Communication Technology, Constitutional Court.

Guntur's career in being curated by the Constitutional Court turned out to be quite long. In 2015 he served as Secretary General of the Constitutional Court. Meanwhile, this year, 2022, he was appointed as a Constitutional Justice.

Guntur was recorded to have won awards, namely Satya Lencana Karya Satya (2009) and Satya Lencana Karya Satya (2013). Guntur also won the Jasa Nararya Star from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020.

In addition to the award, Guntur was included in the Top 10 Middle Leadership Position (JPT) / Echelon I Teladan throughout Indonesia in 2021 which was given by the Ministry of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform.

Guntur had reported his assets to the KPK on March 28, 2022. At that time he was still the Secretary General of the Constitutional Court.
