The CIANJUR - Genset to supply electric towers belonging to Telkomsel, Sukajaya Village, Cugenang District, is a special gift for residents affected by the Cianjur earthquake, West Java.
It is known that electricity in this area is still out due to the earthquake that rocked three days ago. In order to be able to charge, residents of a number of villages in Cugenang are riding in the free electricity supply from this generator.
In a workshop stall on the edge of Jalan Raya Rancagoong, right next to a parked generator-carrying car, they connect dozens of cellphones to be charged, while occasionally opening their respective social media.
"This generator has come since two days ago. The electricity is still out, so this generator is to back up the tower's power supply near here. Well, when the generator is installed, residents ask them to bring their respective terminals," said generator operator Dani Herlan when met by VOI at the location, Wednesday, November 23.
Fortunately, Dani admitted that he had no problem with this. Dani views that the supply of generators for the tower's operational power can at least help ease the needs of residents who are also still lacking in logistics.
"This generator has 20 thousand watts of power. Then if the fuel runs out, we will fill in additional diesel fuel. It's okay for residents to come together, as long as the electricity for towers is not disrupted," said Dani.
One of the residents affected by the earthquake in Cugenang, Tatang Sunarya admitted that he traveled 5 kilometers to be able to charge his cellphone. The cellphone is the main need for Tatang to be able to establish communication with relatives who are also victims of the earthquake.
"I was told by my friends that there is a generator here. Cell phones need communication. The electricity here is still out. So this is really helpful, it's free too," said Tatang.
