No Longer Inject The Agency, The KPK Will Use Its OWN Way To Find Harun Masiku

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has a way to find Harun Masiku, who is still at large. They will not rely on the agency to find the suspected briber of the former General Elections Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.

"We agreed yesterday, so we will not rely on other agencies. We will try in our own way, legally of course," said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Karyoto to reporters, Wednesday, November 23.

Karyoto did not specify the method used to maintain confidentiality. The anti-corruption commission will also respect the corruption eradication authority in other countries and will not want to cause new problems.

"Not continuously, we know that colleagues know that even some people who are known as in Singapore, we must coordinate with CPIB there, both as witnesses and as suspects," he said.

The KPK will certainly continue to look for Harun. They will ask other law enforcement officers such as the police to Interpol to help.

Harun Masiku has been named a suspect in giving bribes to KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan since January 2020. Bribes are given so that he can get an easy seat as a member of the DPR through interim shifts or PAW.

Harun's escape began when the KPK conducted a hand arrest operation regarding this case on January 8, 2020. During the silent operation, the KPK named four suspects, namely Harun Masiku, Wahyu Setiawan, former Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio Fridelina, and Saeful Bahri.

However, Harun, who was not caught by OTT, is unknown. He reportedly fled to Singapore and is said to have returned to Indonesia.

Apart from Harun, there are actually three other fugitives who have not been arrested. They are Izil Azhar who has been fugitive since 2018; Kirana Kotama who has been fugitive since 2017; and Ricky Ham Pagawak who is the Regent of Central Mamberamo.
