Kamaruddin Simanjuntak Asks Bareskrim To Open Again Investigations Of The Case Of The Sinar Mas Boss's Child Registration Case, Bring Expert Data

JAKARTA - Lawyer Kamarudddin Simanjuntak asked the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police to reopen the investigation into the alleged forgery of the birth certificate of the three children of the founder of the Sinar Mas Group, Eka Tjipta Widjaja. Because, based on expert testimony, the case is a criminal element.

"My arrival accompanied my client, Mr. Freddy Widjaja, in the first context of following up on our request to open a case title again against a case whose investigation was stopped on the grounds that the crime of forgery was not a criminal incident," said Kamaruddin at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Monday, November 21.

The case of the alleged forgery of the birth certificate of the three children of the founder of the Sinar Mas Group, Eka Tjipta Widjaja, was originally investigated on October 18. The reason was that no criminal element was found.

In addition, so that the investigation process is reopened, Kamaruddin said that he had brought data containing expert information. The contents, the report sent by his client contains a criminal element.

"We have submitted the opinion of several doctors or professors who stated that forgery is a criminal act or a criminal act," he said.

"We will ask the Bareskrim Wassidik to immediately reopen the case of forgery of the birth certificates of the reported parties," he continued.

In fact, Kamaruddin will also return to make reports against the three reported parties, namely, Indra Widjaja, Muktar Widjaja and Franky Oesman Widjaja.

The report is about Foreign Citizens (WNA) who can make Indonesian citizenship identities. Starting from passports to ID cards.

"Next day we will also make a report or will make a report about why foreign nationals can have ID cards, can have family cards and can have passports with different names, several versions, and use ID cards," said Kamaruddin.

The reason behind the reporting plan, continued Kamaruddin, was because the Indonesian citizenship data was only used to cancel the status of his client as the son of the Sinar Mas boss.

"The family card and passport were to cancel his determination as the son of his father. So this was by his father who was recognized as his son based on a notary certificate in 1991, and his father also admitted that in the certificate there were 5 of his wives and 28 children," he said.

"But after his father died, he made a request for a decision to the Central Jakarta District Court to declare that he was his father's son with his marriage to Lidya's mother," continued Kamaruddin.

For information, the alleged case of forgery of the birth certificate was reported by Freddy to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police on November 24, 2021. The report is registered with the number LP/B/0705/XI/2021/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri.

In the report, the reported parties, namely, Indra Widjaja, Muktar Widjaja and Franky Oesman Widjaja were reported under Article 263 paragraphs 1 and 2 in conjunction with Article 264 paragraphs 1 and 2 in conjunction with Article 266 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code.
