JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Environment Agency is investigating a viral video of a truck allegedly disposing of domestic waste in a waterway in the Cawang area, East Jakarta.
Public Relations of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Yogi Ikhwan, said that his party was looking for a driver from a truck that was caught on camera by residents disposing of domestic waste.
"We are looking for tank trucks," said Yogi Ikhwan in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, November 20.
Yogi added that if the truck driver is proven to have committed a violation, he will be subject to sanctions ranging from fines to revocation of permits.
"Sanctions can be in the form of fines and do not rule out the possibility of being revoked if they repeatedly violate," said Yogi.
Previously, a viral video on social media showing trucks disposing of domestic waste in the waterways of the Cawang City Forest area.
In the narration of the video upload, it is explained that the incident occurred on Sunday morning at around 07.45 WIB.
Residents shouted at the domestic waste disposaler. But the driver immediately fled.
The truck incident disposing of domestic waste in East Jakarta is not the first time this has happened.
Earlier on Tuesday (17/11), a truck was caught disposing of domestic waste on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Matraman, East Jakarta.
The DKI Jakarta Environment Agency has cracked down on the truck. Violators are subject to forced money sanctions of Rp. 500,000.
The sanction is based on Governor Regulation Number 8 of 2007 concerning Public Order.
