DIY - The Culture Service of Bantul Regency introduced cultural potential in seven urban villages to the community by working on the Cultural Village Rintisan festival.

Head of the Bantul Culture Service, Nugroho Eko Setyanto, said that apart from raising cultural potential, the festival which was held at Paseban Field, Trirenggo on November 19-20, 2022, also weighed the rural economy.

"The Cultural Village Rintisan Festival which includes seven cultural startups this time we hold it in the center of Bantul City, with the hope that cultural potentials in the seven urban villages can be witnessed, enjoyed by the entire community," he said in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region, quoted from Antara, Sunday, November 20.

The seven urban villages are cultural village startups, namely Jatimulyo Village, Baturetno Village, Wukirsari Village, Timbulharjo Village, Tamantirto Village, Guwosari Village, and Gadingsari Village.

According to him, cultural village start-ups are held every year in Bantul, but in recent years it has not been held due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so it is hoped that this activity can revive the cultural sector in Bantul.

"We involve the concept for this activity, including traders, to enliven it, because the purpose of this cultural festival can also have a beneficial effect on improving people's welfare," he said.

For this reason, he appreciates the village head or village head as well as cultural village startups in seven villages who have prepared to showcase the cultural potential of rural levels.

"Hopefully this will be useful for efforts to develop culture and explore cultural potential in Bantul Regency, in order to improve people's welfare," he said.

Meanwhile, Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih said the Cultural Village or Cultural Village Rintisan festival was to encourage, motivate and facilitate the preparations for these seven urban villages to become cultural sub-districts.

"We, as residents of Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, must become a cultured citizen, we have aspirations to realize the people of Bantul who are superior, have character, and have special culture ranging from children to the elderly," he said.
