JABAR - The City Government (Pemkot) of Depok, West Java, held a training entitled Historical City Lanskap (HUL) or Historic Urban Landscape on November 21 - 25. The event presented competent speakers from the Netherlands.

Deputy Mayor of Depok Imam Budi Hartono said that with the invitation of representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands, Peter Timmer MA and Senior Advisor Cultural Heritage, tureline Rosbergen, it is hoped that it can produce fresh ideas related to urban areas.

He said the Depok City Government was enthusiastic about smart work for the development of Depok City which did not let go of the advanced, cultured and prosperous factors, aka MBS.

"I hope that this fast HUL scanning training can be carried out well and produce fresh ideas that can be concretely interpreted in the implementation of sustainable development in Depok and other cities in Indonesia," said Imam in Depok, Sunday, November 20, as reported by Antara.

He added, to survey MBS, Depok City took part in the heirloom city network. This effort, he continued, was to support awareness and efforts to mobilize heirlooms, both objects, and non-body objects, as development assets.

The Depok City Government also formed a team of experts who were officially certified by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, in the form of a Cultural Conservation Expert Team (TACB).

Imam said, Depok with all its dynamics still instills heritage values. For this reason, the Democrat City Government also adopted recommendations on Historical City Lanskap based on the UNESCO General Conference.

The Historical City Lanskap approach aims to preserve the quality of the human environment and increase the use of productive and sustainable urban space. This includes recognizing dynamic characters and promoting social and functional diversity.

This approach, he said, integrates the purpose of preserving the city heritage and the goals of social and economic development. "The point is in a balanced and sustainable relationship between the city environment and nature, between the needs of the present and future generations, and the legacy of the past," said Imam.

In addition to the sources who have been mentioned, the training of the Historical City Lanskap in Depok also presented the Indonesian Diaspora in the Netherlands, Hesti Tarekat Dipoyono; Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FTUI), Professor Dr. Kemas Ridwan Kurniawan; together with partners from the Cornelis Chastelein Foundation (YLC); Trisakti University; IPB University and the Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII).
