The inauguration of the Sangkek Dance is based on the Decree (SK) of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Number 100.2.1.6/8112/SJ dated November 11, 2022 and the Decree (SK) of the Governor of West Papua Number: 821.2/90/GPB/XI/2022.
Waterpauw hopes that Dance can carry out its duties well until it is definitively elected by the regional secretary.

Previously, the West Papua Provincial Government proposed three candidates for the regional secretary since last October, namely Assistant I Robert Rumbekwan, Head of the West Papua Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) Dance Sangkek, and Head of the West Papua Social Service Lasarus Indou.
Sangkek dance replaces Nathaniel Mandacan who has been the regional secretary from 2014 to 2022.
