KPK: Improvements For BUMDs Have Not Been Completed, 274 Are Still Losing Money And 291 Have Been Declared Sick

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the improvement of Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) had not run optimally. Based on the latest data, of the total 959 BUMDs, 274 of them lost money and 291 others were declared sick.

This condition made the Deputy for Coordination and Supervision of the KPK Didik Agung Widjanarko reminded that improvements must be made. Moreover, BUMDs in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) which take care of many natural resources (SDA).

"With opportunities that can be used by regional colleagues, they must (improve, red) the governance of BUMD," said Didik in a written statement, Thursday, November 17.

Didik said the KPK was ready to provide support so that regional business entities could improve governance. Good management can bring greater benefits.

From that advantage, continued Didik, people can feel it. "With good BUMD governance, the income obtained will be much greater," he said.

Furthermore, Didik said the KPK had seen many BUMDs who did not benefit even though there was capital participation. In addition, the anti-corruption commission also saw a number of corruption-prone points because they were not transparent, accountable, made bribes, and received gratuities.

It did not stop there, the implementation of good corporate governance also often experienced problems because the selection of directors and supervisory boards was less selective; the PBJ mechanism was not transparent and accountable; low fraud control and supervision.

Meanwhile, for the frequent mode of corruption, licensing and the mining sector are undelegated licensing; licensing requirements are not transparent; fictitious technical recommendations; convoluted only as a formality; the mining sector is used as a source of political funds; overlapping permits where the area of the SDA permit is greater than the area.
