One unit of Bulog's operational car was hit by a fallen tree due to strong winds that occurred in Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra today. The driver of the car had to be rushed to the hospital because he was injured. The Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bukittinggi City, Ibentaro Samudera, said that fallen trees occurred several times due to rain and strong winds. "This is the third disaster in one day in the form of a fallen tree, which hit a Bulog car carrying rice and the driver occurred in Ambacang Hill at around 16.15 WIB," he said, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, November 16 evening. The victim is Muhammad Alfa Roby Siregar (26), a Bulog employee driving a Hilux BA 8637 QX car and has been treated at the emergency room. "The victim was traumatized in the back of the head, the victim seemed confused not knowing what was happening, currently in medical treatment," he said. He said the first fallen tree occurred in Bukit Umpang-Umpang at around 12.30 WIB followed at 16.30 WIB in Bukit Ambacang. "Reports of fallen trees also occurred this afternoon in Pulai Anak Air, there were no victims and severe impacts," he said. He added that the warning from the residents of Bukittinggi City and its surroundings was due to the weather which was still in rainy conditions and strong winds. "Increase vigilance, the BPBD Team is also on standby 24 hours, if a disaster situation occurs, immediately report it," he concluded.
