Indonesian Navy: Indonesia Needs A Strong Navy And Great Marines

JAKARTA - KSAL Admiral TNI Yudo Margono said that Indonesia as an archipelagic country needs a strong navy and great marine.

"Because our sovereignty is in the sea and the coastline that we have to maintain is very long," said Yudo in his remarks read by Deputy KSAL Vice Admiral Ahmadi Heri Purwono during the commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of the Marine Corps at the Marine Fighters' Nest, which aired online.

"Today, winning the war is not enough with a burning spirit even though it is the main capital. Today's victory in war is not enough with a steel mentality, because the enemy has gone far with the technology," he said, Tuesday, November 15, as reported by Antara.

Therefore, said Yudo, the Indonesian Navy and the Marines in it must continue to be built with modern professional soldiers and defense equipment to become truly resilient forces.

According to him, the Marine Corps will stand at the forefront if the country is in a threatened situation.

"If the country is threatened, then the marine will definitely stand at the forefront, no matter what life is at stake. The marine soldiers who are always present and are the solution when the people and the country need it," he said.

Soldiers of the Ungu Beret Corps, he said, have never put forward their egos and always uphold honor as maritime soldiers who are different in every match.

"Marinirs are a frightening ghost for every opponent, as well as a symbol of a humble and humanist soldier with a high awareness that they are people's soldiers who are haram to harm and hurt people's hearts," said Yudo.

Yudo also said that the world is currently developing with very high dynamics.

According to him, this development can be seen from the advancement of technology that continues to soar and is a race against time. Technological advances are also a challenge in itself that is difficult to predict and uncertain.

He said no country really wants war, but when a conflict of interest cannot be compromised, the power of arms will be an option to deal with it.

"So, as the front line of the country, the best thing we have to do is prepare for anything, even the most terrible," Yudo emphasized.

In 77 years of unconditional service, he added, Marine Corps soldiers not only colored but have created their own gold ink painting on the history of the Indonesian nation's journey.

"This nation will not forget the services and service of the Marine Corps in preventing the colonial people from returning to power. The Indonesian people cannot deny the service of KKO soldiers during the struggle of Trikora, Dwikora, and when the state must face various betrayals and rebellions," he said.

On that occasion, Yudo expressed his highest pride and respect for the services and dedication of true patriots of the Marine Corps soldiers from time to time. Moreover, those who have died as the nation's cusuma, have had great services in making the Marine Corps, Navy, and Indonesia proud.
