Positive For COVID-19 Upon Arrival, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen Can't Attend The Bali G20 Summit

JAKARTA - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen who is known to be positive for COVID-19 and was unable to attend the first day of the G20 high-level conference (KTT) in Bali. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hun Sen is scheduled to return home today. "PM Hun Sen and his entourage will return to Cambodia today," said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Teuku Faizasyah via text message to Antara. PM Hun Sen through his Facebook social media account said he was positive for COVID-19. He explained that shortly before boarding the plane to Indonesia, he had tested for antigen. He tested positive for COVID-19 after being examined by health facilities in Bali. "I plan to return to Cambodia tonight on a normal flight and stay on duty without receiving guests," said Hun Sen. Hun Sen and his entourage arrived in Bali on Monday to attend the G20 Summit as invited guests. Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo opened the G20 Summit on the first day which will discuss two discussion sessions, namely food and energy security, as well as health. Indonesia held the G20 Summit on November 15-16, 2022 as the peak of the G20 Presidency with the theme "Recover Together, Recover Stronger".
