The Vote In West Java Is Considered Important For The Winning Of The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - The CiGMark Survey Institute believes that West Java has the potential for decisive votes in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). There are 33,276,905 voters whose votes can be contested if referring to 2019 data.

"Essentially, the point captured from this survey is that West Java has a decisive potential for votes in the national arena," said CiGMark CEO Panca Pratama in a written statement, Monday, November 14.

With this condition, Panca assesses that political parties can look at a number of names that are widely supported by the people of West Java. One of them is the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, who is considered very suitable to be president by 35.3 percent of survey respondents.

According to Panca, Ridwan Kamil is now ahead in West Java due to several factors. First, he is a local man who has the ability.

"From its performance, the community thinks very well. That in West Java, even in the midst of a crisis that has hit, the community thinks that RK has a very good performance even compared to the previous period or the previous governor," he said.

In addition, Ridwan is also considered capable of embracing young people. In fact, a political expert from the University of Indonesia, Ade Reza, alluded to the followers of the former Bandung Mayor's social media account being of fantastic value so that it could become an opportunity.

"This means that if it is then played as a local vote getter in the context of this presidential election, it is very strategic for anyone who has succeeded in embracing Pak RK," said Ade.

CiGMark conducted a survey on September 12-18 and was followed by 825 respondents. As a result, Ridwan Kamil's electability was higher than other figures such as Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in West Java.

Meanwhile, for names that have the potential to run as vice president, Ridwan Kamil's name is also in the top position ahead of Anies Baswedan, Sandiaga Uno, and Ganjar Pranowo. The data collection used uses a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of 3.48 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
