PNS And PPPK In Riau Islands May Register As Organizers Of The 2024 General Election, KPU: The Condition Is That The Hand Permit Is Sufficient!

The Riau Islands Province General Election Commission (KPU) allows Civil Servants (PNS) and government employees with a work agreement (PPPK) to be the organizers of the 2024 General Election.

KPU member Kepri Parlindungan Sihombing said that civil servants and members of active PPPK in Riau Islands do not need to stop if they want to register as members of the sub-district election committee (PPK).

"It is enough to get permission from the superior or the leader when registering as a member of the PPK, there is no need to take off his civil servant clothes," said Parlindungan, in Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands, quoted from Antara, Friday, November 11.

Parlin emphasized that the local government that issued a letter so that civil servants or PPPK who wanted to become members of the PPK had to stop being civil servants was an attitude that hindered the PPK recruitment process.

Recently, it was revealed that the Anambas Islands Regency Government issued a letter asking local civil servants to temporarily stop and not be given income as civil servants.

According to him, such letters were not found in other regencies and cities in Riau Islands or in other regions in Indonesia.

"Of course the letter surprised us because it was published close to the socialization of PPK recruitment. We value letters that can hinder the recruitment of PPK, especially so far, quite a number of civil servants have been interested in becoming PPK members," he said.

Parlindungan explained that the requirements to become a member of the PPK, including an Indonesian citizen aged at least 17 years, are not members of a political party stated with a valid statement letter or at least within 5 years of no longer being a member of a political party as evidenced by a certificate from the management of the political party concerned, being educated at least completing high school and domiciled in the working area of PPK and PPS.

He continued, the stages of recruiting PPK on November 16, 2022, to January 1, 2023. The term of office of PPK from January 2, 2022, to April 1, 2024.

The PPK chairman's salary is IDR 2.5 million/month, while PPK members are IDR 2.2 million, an increase compared to the 2019 elections and the 2020 Pilkada.
