The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police will examine the CV Samudra Chemical, a supplier of solvent materials for sirop drugs. The examination was carried out in the aftermath of the discovery of dozens of drums containing Glikol etilen (EG) and glycol dietilen (DEG) in a drum with the identity of glycol propylene (PG).

"The plan is not to continue to summon brother E as the owner of the SEC," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Friday, November 11.

In addition, investigators will also examine other witnesses. For example, residents around the location found the drums containing EG and DEG.

The drums were found in a banana plantation in Depok, West Java.

"(Examining, red) brother T is the son of E and witnesses to the RT and RW," he said.

Then, investigators also studied the documents for the purchase of raw materials for Propilen Glikol (PG) by PT Afi Farma and others.

"Looking for documents related to the purchase of additional PG raw materials from PT AF, PT TBK and PT APG, examining witnesses, corporate experts, pharmaceutical experts and laboratory experts," said Ramadhan.

The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) together with the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency revealed the findings of a kidney-depleting chemical compound, Etylene Glikol (EG)/Diethilen Glikol (DEG), in a drum with the identity of Propilen Glikol (PG) in a banana garden in Depok, West Java.

"BPOM took samples of chemicals for laboratory testing, the results showed 12 samples with PG identities detected containing EG and DEG which were very far from required," said Head of BPOM Penny K. Lukito.

Around 59 drums containing dangerous chemicals were found in two semi-permanent warehouses on Jalan Damai RT02 RW13, Tapos Village, Tapos District, Depok.

Based on the results of BPOM's search with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, it is known that the EG/DEG compound, which is now associated with the incidence of acute kidney problems in Indonesia, is known to be managed and owned by CV Samudera Chemical as a distributor of medicinal raw materials.

Previously, the National Police stated that they found criminal elements in the alleged acute kidney failure case of PT Afi Farma. The status of the case was upgraded to the investigation stage.

However, no party has been named as a suspect. The plan in the future, investigators will ask for information from BPOM. The goal is to clarify the distribution permit for the company's production of sirp drugs
