KUPANG - East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Police Chief, Inspector General Johanis Asadoma, said there would be a new suspect in the case of the burning of the Cantika Express 77 fast boat which killed 20 people and 17 people are still missing.

"We have examined approximately 20 witnesses. From the results of the examination, there may be a new suspect", he told reporters in Kupang, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 10.

This was conveyed by him after leading an assembly for the title of security forces ahead of the G20 Summit which will be stationed in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, NTT.

Currently, only one person has been named a suspect in the case of the burning of the ship.

"Currently, only the captain has been named a suspect. However, the investigation process is still ongoing, he continued.

The investigation team led by the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the NTT Police is currently continuing to develop the case, to reveal the possibility of new suspects.

Regarding the missing victims, he said until now the number is still at 17 people. And he hoped it wouldn't increase anymore.
