JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono spoke about potential disasters that pose a threat to global warming in commemoration of the 77th Hero's Day.

This was revealed by Heru during the 2022 Hero's Day Commemoration Ceremony, at the South Plaza Monas. Heru acted as Ceremony Inspector and conveyed the mandate of the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tri Rismaharini, in commemoration of the 77th Hero's Day.

Heru said, one of the threats and challenges faced today is global warming which triggers various natural disasters, food scarcity, energy and clean water. Therefore, all parties should fight for preparedness in dealing with disasters.

"Preparedness to face disasters must always be fought for together with sincerity. Let's move and move forward together," Heru said on Thursday, November 10.

Heru emphasized that the development and utilization of new and renewable energy also needs to be done. These include developing food sources based on local potential and wisdom, as a solution to strengthen food diversity.

Then, managing water resources wisely to ensure safety and resilience which is expected to support the sustainability of the present and future generations of life.

"From Aceh to Papua, I see and feel activity, as well as the spirit to rise, increase knowledge, train skills, to cultivation and management of natural products. This is the real challenge, managing Indonesia's natural wealth which is extraordinary for the glory of the nation," he explained.

The 77th Hero's Day Commemoration Ceremony was also attended by the leadership of the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD, members of the DKI Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), DKI Regional Secretary Marullah Matali, heads of regional apparatus organizations of the DKI Provincial Government, heads and members of the DKI Jakarta LVRI, pinisepuh and veterans of freedom fighters, as well as the head of the PKK and Dharma Women's Mobilization Team.
