JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Ansor Youth Movement (GP) reported Faizal Assegaff to Polda Metro Jaya on suspicion of defamation of the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board KH Yahya Cholil Staquf. "Reporting a Twitter account named Faizal Assegaf, which in this case is suspected of defamation, insults and spreading false news against the General Chairperson of PBNU KH Yahya Cholil Staquf," said GP Chairman Ansor DKI Jakarta Muhammad Ainul Yakin at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, November 8. Ainul assessed that the tweet uploaded by the Twitter account contained hate speech and spread of fake news that could cause division. "Friends can see on Faizal Assegaff's Twitter, one of which is saying that the General Chairperson of PBNU hates the habaibs, the mastermind behind the disbandment of habaib," he said. "That's very heinous. Even though there are a lot of friends seeing it at PBNU habaib, there are also many NU administrators, it's impossible, it's slander," he said again. In his report, Ainul also included a number of pieces of evidence, including a screenshot of his Twitter account in the name of Faizal Assegaf. The Ansor GP report has been received by Polda Metro Jaya with the report number LP/B/5700/XI/2022/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA, dated November 8, 2022. Whatever article is suspected in the report, namely Article 28 paragraph 2 and Article 15 paragraph 2 and Article 15 of the Criminal Code concerning hatred and spread of fake news. On a separate occasion, Faizal Assegaf had no problem reporting him to the police. He said the report against him at Polda Metro Jaya was not the first time. "I conclude that it is the right of those who reported me to the police station throughout Indonesia, if I'm not mistaken, it has reached 11 or 20 regions, today is DKI. I think it's good," Faizal said when confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday. On that occasion, Faizal also discussed the accusation by GP Ansor regarding him calling Yahya Cholil Staquf a habaib hater. He said the tweet was related to Yahya Cholil Staquf's statement that he called Habaib a refugee in Indonesia. "The report concerns the video of PBNU Chairman Yahya Staquf saying the refugees were habaib," he said. Then he questioned the data, facts and academic texts. "What is the basis that mentions habaib coming to Indonesia as a refugee," he said. Because it was harassment and was not found in authentic evidence. "Then it became the subject of reporting that they considered insulting," he said. Faizal also stated that he believed his statement was true and was considering reporting back to the reporter. "Later, if they report, I'm not afraid to hit back to them. I stick to the principles of truth and later I will consider reporting them back," he said.
