PA 212 And FPI Hold A Grand Demo This Afternoon, Police Falls 3,790 Security Personnel

JAKARTA - A number of community organizations (ormas) including the Alumni Brotherhood (PA 212) and the Islamic Brotherhood Front (FPI) will hold demonstrations in the Merdeka Palace area, Jakarta, Friday, November 4.

Polda Metro Jaya deployed 3,790 personnel to secure the demonstration which will take place starting this afternoon. "A total of 3,790 personnel," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Friday, November 4.

Based on the notification letter, in addition to PA 212 and FPI, the mass organizations and community organizations involved in the demonstration included the National People's Defenders Movement (GNPR), the Indonesian University of Batak Family Association (IKB UI), the Legaled People's Alliance (ARM).

Ormas Bang Japar, Juklak, FMS, GBN, and KPIB also participated in this action.

The police predict the number of people is estimated to reach 750 people. This demonstration is said to start at 13.00 WIB.

"The demonstration demands lowering fuel prices, lowering prices, upholding legal justice," said Zulpan.

Apart from security, the police will also implement traffic engineering. The goal is that demonstrations do not disturb motorists.

Several roads will be diverted, among others, the flow of traffic from HI to Jalan Merdeka Barat is diverted to Jalan Kebon Sirih, vehicles from the direction of Kebon Sirih to the Horse Statue are straightened towards Tugu Tani.

Furthermore, the flow of traffic from Jalan Ridwan Rais to Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan was straightened to Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur.

Then, vehicles from Jalan Hayam Wuruk to Jalan Majapahit or Jalan Merdeka Utara are diverted to Jalan Juanda or to Jalan Suryopranoto, traffic flow from Jalan Abdul Muis to Jalan Gajah Mada is diverted to Jalan Tanah Abang Satu.

Then, Jalan Veteran I, II, III will be closed and Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur to Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara will be diverted to Jalan Perwira.
