JAKARTA - A number of members of the DPR support the plan of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to regulate the use of RF plates for vehicles. Support from the DPR regarding controlling RF plates on the streets is considered important.

"I think the people are completely behind the National Police Chief and the DPR who together want to control the use of illegal RF plates," said Political Communications Expert Silvanus Alvin, Wednesday, November 2.

Several members of the DPR support the National Police Chief's plan because they see people being nervous with the existence of illegal RF plates roaming the streets. Alvin said that the support from the DPR would further strengthen the Police's policy regarding the use of RF plates that should have been given for certain functions, such as those related to the police, service or VVIP.

"We should praise the supporters of the DPR RI because they are in the position of small people. Because we often encounter several viral cases of RF-plate car drivers acting arrogantly," said the lecturer at the Faculty of Communication, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN).

"This certainly cannot be dealt with case by case, but it is necessary systemically," added Alvin.

In his statement, the National Police Chief captured the phenomenon of people seeing the improper use of RF plates. For this reason, the National Police Chief emphasized that he would fix this.

The support from the DPR for the intention of the National Police Chief is considered important because, said Alvin, this means that the steps taken by the National Police Chief are in accordance with what the small people feel considering that DPR members are representatives of the people.

"So that a group of people doesn't feel powerful and can arbitrarily walk the streets, whether it breaks through a busway or other things that violate the rules," said the England University of Leicester master graduate.

The spirit of the National Police Chief is also said to be able to start within the scope of the DPR. Members of the council are considered to have to set an example to the community, including by following the rules in the use of vehicle plates.

"For example, don't let a member of the DPR own a vehicle with a plate with the symbol of the Police because of course it will provide a negative precedent," said Alvin.

The lecturer at the UMN Distance Learning Study Program added that the DPR's support for the National Police Chief can also be seen as a symbol of the public's trust in the National Police. Alvin said that the DPR as a representative of the people could show that the Police were still working professionally regardless of the various issues and cases that hit the Tri Brata Corps.

"Therefore, appreciation needs to be given to the DPR because it is willing to support the good steps of the National Police Chief," he said.

As is known, the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, also supports the National Police Chief's plan to control the RF plate. According to him, the number of RF plates roaming the streets confused the public, even though the RF plate is a special plate obtained with certain provisions.

"We will see that what the National Police Chief plans to regulate this RF plate should also be fully supported, because what was conveyed or planned by the National Police Chief may have been with an in-depth study," said Dasco.

"We see that these types of plates are roaming the streets so that sometimes we are confused whether that much is given according to the classification and qualifications of the plates," he continued.

Support for the National Police Chief also came from the leadership of Commission III of the DPR to members of Commission III of the DPR. Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR Ahmad Sahroni also hopes that the National Police Chief's plan will be realized soon.

"I ask the National Police Chief to clean all RF number plates that are not the designation of the holders directly to their officials immediately revoke them and immediately clean them," said Sahroni.

Meanwhile, Member of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman, supports the National Police Chief's plan because he suspects that RF plates have been misused a lot for non-national purposes.

We strongly agree with the control of the RF plate. We suspect that many of these plates are often misused for the benefit of non-services. In fact, we received information that many people who were not entitled to use the plate and were arrogant on the road," said Habiburokhman.
