Bos Dies, Store Employees In Bandung Robs 1 Ton Of Cloth

BANDUNG - The Bandung Polrestabes team arrested two young men with the initials MR (26) and IR (22) who robbed one tonne of cloth transported by motorbike from a shop owned by his own boss.

Bandung Kulon Police Chief, Commissioner Asep Nandang, said the robbery took place at a cloth shop located on Jalan Cigondewah, Bandung City, West Java. The perpetrators, he said, took advantage of the moment when his boss died.

"So the modus operandi is that they are employees of the shop, where they become confidants of the victim's husband, so after the deceased died, they started robbing", said Asep at the Bandung Police Station, Bandung City, West Java, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 1.

According to him, the victim and her son discovered the robbery for the first time when they checked a cloth shop owned by her dead husband. The victim, he said, also saw if there were drill marks on the door of the shop which was allegedly forced to open.

The total rolls of cloth robbed by the perpetrators amounted to 40 rolls. Each roll of cloth weighs about 25 kilograms.

According to Asep, the perpetrators carried out the action using a Honda Vario motorcycle with the license plate number D-5992-JQ. The cloth, he said, was brought one by one from the store's warehouse using a motorbike.

"The total loss is up to around Rp. 250 million, which he sells in retail, and uses it for his own interests", he said.

The police also named another suspect with the initials AM (49). Asep said AM acted as a receptacle for the cloth that was robbed by the two perpetrators.

As a result of their actions, MR and IR were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of five years. Meanwhile, AM as a mediator is subject to Article 480 of the Criminal Code with the same threat of punishment.
