Commission III Of The House Of Representatives (DPR) Supports Electronic Tickets: To Avoid Extortion From Traffic Police

Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives Prince Khairul Saleh hopes that law enforcement carried out by the National Police through electronic ticketing or ETLE must be optimized by adding devices to support the policy.

"I hope that law enforcement through ETLE in a static and mobile manner must be optimized. The addition of software and hardware in the IT sector must also be improved," Pangeran said, quoted from Antara, Monday, October 31.

According to him, Commission III of the DPR supports the fulfillment of complete facilities and infrastructure in line with the elimination of conventional tickets to optimize the performance of traffic police (polantas).

He considered that the instructions of the National Police Chief General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo to stop manual prosecution of violations for motorists were a new breakthrough in the field of legal action.

"The National Police Chief's instructions are to make the law run more effectively and remain optimal, especially in an effort to avoid illegal levies (extortion) from 'naughty' police officers," he said.

Pangeran assessed that the National Police Chief's instructions could not be separated from the police chief's breakthrough to revive the image of the police who were slumped in society.

According to him, through the National Police Chief's instructions, it is hoped that illegal levies will not occur through manual ticketing by traffic police officers with traffic violators.

He believes that the National Police Chief's instructions by manually eliminating legal action are not intended to eliminate vulnerable points for illegal levies on the streets, but also to prioritize the substance of law enforcement in the community.

"Especially on the highway, it runs effectively and optimally. This means that law enforcement options are not only 'justitia' by simply ticketing, or now with 'ETLE' but also 'non-justitia'," he said.
