DPW PPP Papua Province Declaration Ganjar Pranowo As A Presidential Candidate For 2024

JAKARTA - The Regional Leadership Council (DPW) of the Papua Province United Development Party (PPP) declared Ganjar Pranowo's name as a potential presidential candidate (candidate) for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). "Thank God, we ask Allah Swt. After holding a plenary session as the highest forum for Mukerwil, all the chairmen and secretaries of the PPP DPC throughout Papua expressed their support for Ganjar as a presidential candidate for the Republic of Indonesia," said Chairman of the Papua PPP DPW Mursidin in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, October 29. Support for the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo is the result of the Regional Working Conference (Mukerwil) which was attended by all PPP DPCs throughout Papua at the Grand Abe Hotel Jayapura, Papua, Friday night, October 28. Mursidin explained that the choice of the name of the presidential candidate narrowed to Ganjar Pranowo's name after the functionaries netted the aspirations of cadres and sympathizers at the grassroots. It is this aspiration that was ratified as the voice of the DPW and will be forwarded to the center. "We, DPW, accommodate all aspirations born from below to be forwarded to the center later. We also support this aspiration because the figure of Pak Ganjar is wanted by the Papuan people," he said. Meanwhile, Chairman of the DPC Paniai Nason Uti assessed that Ganjar was a figure worthy of continuing the leadership relay of President Joko Widodo. According to him, Ganjar's track record has been tested and has a very good personality. "In terms of background, I don't think he is new. This can be seen when he served in the DPR RI and the governor of Central Java," said Nason. Nason hopes that the PPP DPP can continue the aspirations and prayers of the Papuan people, so that later Ganjar will be carried by PPP as well as brought and fought for at the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB). "This only continues the prayers from the people, hopefully the PPP DPP will hear all prayers from the community. Because let alone in Java, we in Papua feel very close and know Pak Ganjar well," he said. Previously, the West Papua PPP DPW had also declared Ganjar Pranowo as a prospective presidential candidate for the 2024 General Election.
