JAKARTA - The 94th Youth Pledge commemoration at the Central Java Province level is centered in the Wonosobo Regency square, Friday, October 28.
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo as the inspector of the ceremony reminded that education is a contribution of youth inheriting the spirit of the 1928 Youth Pledge Congress and changing the fate of themselves, families, to build the nation.
Ganjar said that education does not just complete elementary school level to higher education. There, there are disciplines that can form humans who have creativity in all fields.
“ Young people must be all literate, technology, science, so that later in global competition they can win. Hopefully this warning can be an inspiration for young people to move, such as grandparents (participants of the 1928 Youth Pledge Congress),” explained in electronic messages received in Jakarta.
On that occasion, Ganjar mentioned Fajar Jaka Surya, a young man from Pemalang who changed his fate due to education.
Fajar, a weaving child with minimal wages and having to support four people. Had not wanted to continue the study because of the difficulty of costs, he was lucky to receive it at the Central Java State Vocational School, a free school that was financed by the Central Java Provincial Government Budget.
Now, Fajar has graduated and worked in a large mining company in Borneo. This is what Ganjar called education changing the fate of self, family, and nation.
Therefore, the Central Java Provincial Government initiated so that young people can receive education. Not only with the Central Java State Vocational School program in Semarang, Pati, and Purbalingga.
There are also semi-boarding school schools built in 15 districts, with the aim of improving the quality of human resources and breaking the chain of poverty.
"If in Central Java how can children not be able to go to school access education, we prepare Central Java Vocational School to provide space that cannot afford it. The result is good because the state is involved, we pay for it for free. Don't let them not go to school, so that education is better. That will change the fate of yourself, family and nation,” he added.
Anniversary shock
After the event, Ganjar was surprised by a student of SMP Negeri 1 Wonosobo Sahril Maulana who gave him a birthday cake. Seeing this, Ganjar, who is now 54 years old, thanked him and inserted a prayer.
“ I'm a person who never celebrates birthdays. But always at the Youth Pledge celebration, because the date of birth happens to be the same, there are children. Touched. Yes, hopefully he will become a great child, have the success of his dreams, have the spirit like a person who swears as a young man, ” he said.
Meanwhile, Sahril admitted that he spontaneously gave Ganjar the birthday cake. That's because all this time he idolizes the figure of the white hair man.
By asking for help from his mother, Sahril then made a simple birthday cake.
“ Because I am a fan of Pak Ganjar. Canteng people often see on Youtube. The hope is always for Pak Ganjar. Earlier, I was ordered to study hard, ” concluded Sahril.
