Polri: If The Intention Of The Recitation Is Why Attack The Police?

JAKARTA - The Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) said that the six members of the Special Military Command who died were only tasked with escorting Rizieq Shihab to attend the recitation ceremony. But the police questioned why they should attack law enforcement officers.

"If he wants to hold a recitation, why should he attack the Police car behind him," said the Director of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat, to reporters, Monday, December 7.

Tubagus said that if the six special laskar had intended to only guard Rizieq Shihab, they should not have carried out the attack. According to him, the police would not take firm action if the special laskar did not attack.

"If you want to go to recitation, just go to the recitation and we also don't do anything," he said.

Tubagus emphasized that the police have evidence of the FPi's voice recordings. In the recording, according to Tubagus, there was an order to 'crash' the car that was suspected.

"The fact is we were attacked and in fact the voice notes are like that," he said.

"The facts have been conveyed and there is also evidence about how the voice notes are planned to be lured there and then caught," he said.

In the voice recording, several people who were said to be members of the Special Army seemed to coordinate with Rizieq Shihab's escort. There was even one person who ordered to hit the police car if necessary.

"Everything is stated or stated clearly in the voice note," he said.

"The voice note was how the story was well known to him that it was our member and then they continued to carry out attacks on their side," continued Tubagus.

Six special Laskar supporters of Rizieq Shihab were shot dead by police for attacking police officers. This incident occurred on the Jakarta-Cikampek KM50 toll road.
