Drinking Sirop Paracetamol Every 4 Hours, Toddlers In Central Jakarta DIE

JAKARTA - A toddler with the initials MK (4) a resident of Kartini Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, died. The victim's death was suspected after consuming paracetamol sirop from the Sawah Besar District Health Center.

When met at his home, Amir Hamzah, the parent of the Constitutional Court, said that the incident began when his son had a fever. Then the child was taken to the Sawah Besar District Health Center for treatment.

"My son is 39 degrees hot, then I will take him to the health center on October 14, 2022," Amir told reporters at his home, Wednesday, October 26.

Amir explained that the doctor also provided 2 bottles of paracetamol sirop.

"Every 4 hours our son is told to take the drug. When I came home from the health center I gave the drug, but my son kept fussy and crying," he said.

Amir explained that his son had been undergoing treatment at home for three days, but the child's condition did not show any change. On October 16, 2022, Amir brought the Constitutional Court back to the Sawah Besar District health center.

"Pulang dari sana anak saya diberikan obat lagi antibiotics. Tanggal 17 Oktober 2022 anak saya masih sempat makan bedah," ucapnya.

On October 18, 2022 at around 01.00 WIB in the morning, Amir took his son to the Regional General Health Center (RSUD) of Sawah Besar District. The officer had time to provide treatment but the child could not be helped.

"Had received treatment there. The doctor there said that my son was already in a coma and had received treatment," he said.

Director of Regional General Health House (RSUD) Sawah Besar District, Herni Lestyaningsih said that Muhammad Khaliq had received treatment at the Sawah Besar District Hospital. However, due to limited equipment such as the absence of a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (Picu) room.

"If the patient does have signs of acute pain, the patient is sick. Because when he arrived, he was already in a difficult condition," he said.
