BEM UI Criticism Of The Jokowi-Ma'ruf Government: Work, Work, Work But Sia

JAKARTA - The University of Indonesia (UI) Student Executive Board (BEM) has again criticized the government of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin (Jokowi-Ma'ruf). Through the @BEMUI_Official twitter account, the student forum posted the caricatures of President Jokowi and Vice President Ma'ruf who were standing behind the podium. Jokowi is depicted with a nose that extends like a LOCAL character and raises his index finger. Meanwhile, Ma'aruf Amin was behind holding tightly onto Jokowi's two sides of the shoulder. In the poster image uploaded on Wednesday, October 25, at 20:55 WIB yesterday, BEM UI also includes the words “ Work ” with capital letters with additional writing under it “ But in vain ”. BEM UI also includes the hashtag #CUKUPSUDAH: WE PASSED. In his tweet, BEM UI said that Jokowi, who was elected by the people as president, had never shown his side to the people. "Jokowi is a good example for us about a President who is elected by the voice of the people, but has never shown his part in the people and often worsens the joints of people's lives," wrote BEM UI, continuing his post. While Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, his duties are called no more as symbols and displays in photos in front of elementary school classes. "How is it possible for us to progress if this country is led byAKErs and a photo display?" wrote BEM UI again. According to BEM UI, more than half of Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin's tenure is running, but none of the political promises have been fulfilled perfectly. "Everything sweet that was said by Jokowi & Ma'ruf Amin during the campaign period was just a wind, in order to smooth the way to power without being realized optimally," said the BEM UI tweet.
