JAKARTA As a result of following the instructions on Google Maps, a man riding a motorcycle entered the Jagorawi Toll Road, East Jakarta. The Head of the Jagorawi Toll Road Patrol Unit (PJR), Ipda Leonarsus Alvin, explained that the incident occurred on Sunday, October 23, at around 22.30 WIB.

"We received information from road users that at KM 9 in the direction of Bogor there was a two-wheeled vehicle driver entering the toll road," said Leonarsus Alvin quoting Antara, Monday, October 24.

Alvin added that his party then directed the motorcyclist to the rest area of the Jagorawi Toll Road which is located at KM 10 to be recorded and given direction.

"Immediately in the data, after being given a statement letter, they are directed out through the back door of the rest area," said Alvin.

Alvin said that based on the confession of the motorcyclist, it was known that he had followed the wrong road directions from the Google Maps application.

"He didn't realize that in the end he entered the toll road," said Alvin.

Furthermore, he said that similar incidents are actually often experienced by motorcycle riders.

For this reason, Alvin advised motorcyclists to be more careful in using road guide applications and ensure that the application is regulated as needed.

"Because usually the application directs four-wheeled vehicles to use two wheels to check again," said Alvin.
