Ancol Sentiong Pump Built, Acting Governor Of DKI Heru Claims Can Reduce Floods In 8-9 Kelurahan

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono claims that the Ancol Sentiong Pump, if already operating, could reduce the impact of flooding on nine urban villages in North Jakarta. Heru conveyed this when reviewing the construction of the Ancol Sentiong pump station in the Sentiong River, Sunter Agung, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. "This is Sunter Agung, Sunter Jaya, then Tanjung Priok (the puddle) is attracted. Then some Warakas, Papanggo, Gunung Sahari, Ancol, Bandan Village. There are eight to nine urban villages that can be overcome or utilized by this project," said Heru at the location, Monday, October 24. Heru asked all staff, especially the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Service (SDA), to immediately accelerate coordination, and will always communicate with BBWSCC so that the Sentiong pump construction process can be accelerated. "Earlier I asked to speed things up. So, before next year's rainy season it can be completed. So that during the rainy season, the results (can be overcome) can be seen. Then the two existing pumps can be used for (precipitation for the rainy season) which starts this October," said Heru. This development is the authority of the Ministry of PUPR, through the Ciliwung-Cisadiane River Basin Center (BBWSCC). Head of BBWSCC Bambang Heri Mulyono revealed that the progress of the water pump construction has reached 51 percent. The plan is for the construction of the Ancol Sentiong Pump to be completed in October 2023. "In fact, next month there will be two pumps that have been sent here from the UK and later in December we will start the installation. Then, next year the three will also be sent. So, for the pump capacity here, each pump has a capacity of 10 m3 per second and there are five pumps, so there is a total of 50 m3 per second," said Bambang. Ancol Sentong Pump, continued Bambang, in addition to maintaining water discharge when the sea level rises, the water level from upstream will be maintained at its height. "The total area is about 2,500 hectares which will be served by this pump. Then, we plan to repair the Ancol pump so that the synergy with the pump here will be repaired," he explained.
