Menos Of The Minister Of Social Affairs Juliari P. Batubara Submit To The KPK

JAKARTA - Commitment Making Officer (PPK) Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemsos) Adi Wahyono, following the steps of Social Minister Juliari P. Batubara surrendered himself to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Sunday, December 6.

Adi and Social Minister Juliari P. Batubara are known to have been named as suspects in the alleged bribery case related to social assistance (bansos) handling COVID-19. They are suspected of accepting bribes from Ardian IM and Harry Sidabuke regarding food packages.

"Based on the information we received on Sunday, December 6 at around 09.00 WIB, the suspect AW (Adi Wahyono) turned himself in to the KPK investigators," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri when confirmed.

This step of surrender is because the two of them were not caught in the catch operation. However, both have been made suspects by the KPK.

Currently, Juliari and Adi are being examined intensively by a team of investigators. There is a possibility that after being questioned the two suspects will immediately be detained.

"Next, the investigating team will conduct an examination of the person concerned," said Ali.

It is known, the KPK named Adi Wahyono together with Social Minister Juliari Juliari P. Batubara and other PPK Matheus Joko Santoso as suspects for allegedly accepting bribes worth around Rp. 17 billion from the COVID-19 social assistance procurement partner for the Jabodetabek area.

This case stems from the procurement of social assistance for handling COVID-19 in the form of food packages at the Ministry of Social Affairs in 2020 with a value of around Rp.5.9 trillion with a total of 272 procurement contracts and carried out in two periods.

It is suspected that there was a "fee" for each work package that partners had to pay to the Ministry of Social Affairs through Matheus Joko Santoso. Matheus and Adi Wahyono agreed to a fee for each social assistance package of IDR 10 thousand per basic food package of IDR 300 thousand per social assistance package.

Furthermore Matheus and Adi in May to November 2020 made work contracts with several suppliers as partners, including Ardian IM, Harry Sidabuke and also PT Rajawali Parama Indonesia (RPI) which allegedly belonged to Matheus. The appointment of PT RPI as one of these partners was allegedly known by Juliari and approved by Adi Wahyono.

In the implementation of the first period of the basic food assistance package, it is suspected that a fee of Rp 12 billion was received, which Matheus distributed to Juliari Batubara through Adi with a value of around Rp. The money was then managed by Eko and Shelvy N, as Juliari's confidants, to be used to pay for Juliari's personal needs.

For the second period of implementation of the basic food assistance packages, fee money was collected from October 2020 to December 2020 amounting to around Rp.8.8 billion which is also suspected to be used for Juliari's needs.
