SIDOARJO - Residents in Mlaten Hamlet, Sidokepung, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java whose houses were affected by the strong wind hydrometeorological disaster on Sunday, October 23 this evening were forced to evacuate at the local RW 6 village Hall. Sidoarjo Regent Ahmad Muhdlor said residents were forced to stay at the RW hall because their houses were damaged by the strong winds. "Tonight residents were forced to evacuate temporarily," he said while inspecting the houses of residents who were damaged by strong winds in Sidoarjo, quoted from Antara. On Monday, October 24, data collection on residents' houses that were damaged, both heavy, light and moderate. "Tomorrow it will start to be recorded to find out the damage to residents' houses and given assistance until the houses are suitable to be re-inhabited," he said. He said that residents who fled tonight had been given fast food assistance by involving stalls around the area. "There are about 500 packs of fast food given to help residents who evacuate, because if we provide basic necessities, we have to process them again. We will also set up a public kitchen to meet the needs of the residents," he said. He said that temporary data on the number of houses that were victims of strong winds were 256 houses affected by hydrometeorological disasters. "Hundreds of houses of Mlaten Hamlet residents spread across 4 RTs in neighborhood 6 were damaged by the wind. Namely in RT 22, RT 23, RT 24, and RT 25. The worst impact mainly occurred in RT 23, RW 6," he said.
