MANOKWARI - The Manokwari Regency Government, West Papua Province, has prepared two places to relocate traders from Sanggeng Market who want to be rebuilt.
The Regent of Manokwari, Hermus Indou said, the two locations are not far from Sanggeng Market, namely behind the banking area and another is on Jalan Printing which is an office area of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD).
"We will still prepare two more locations as relocation sites for additional traders," said Hermus in Manokwari, Antara, Sunday, October 23.
He hopes that the relocation of the traders can run smoothly. The relocation of traders from Sanggeng Market is carried out because the market is planned to be rebuilt starting January 2023.
The Manokwari Regency Government plans to build Sanggeng Market in the form of four floors from the building which is now in the form of three floors. The target for the construction of Sanggeng Market is expected to be completed in December 2024.
Hermus revealed that the initial auction of the Sanggeng Market development plan will be carried out in early December 2022.
He targets the relocation of traders to be completed in the next two to three weeks. On the other hand, he said the construction of the Wosi Market had temporarily been running for up to 85 percent.
"In the near future, we will hand it over to traders according to the list of names that were previously victims of the fire," said Hermus.
He said that the construction of the Wosi Market in permanent form would begin after the construction of the Sanggeng Market was completed.
