14 Youth Centers In Jakarta Failed To Be Built This Year, DPRD: What's Milling?

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission E of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Budget Wicitra Sastroamidjojo, regrets that until now the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has not yet built 14 youth arenas in Jakarta.

In fact, said Anggara, the DKI Provincial Government has budgeted Rp432 billion to build youth arenas in the 2022 APBD. This budget is based on the encouragement of Commission E during the discussion of the 2022 APBD.

"We have budgeted a total of Rp432 billion to build at 14 points but it failed to be realized this year. It is unfortunate because the appropriate youth arena is the right of the people of DKI," Anggara told reporters, Saturday, October 22.

Therefore, Anggara asked the DKI Youth and Sports Agency to evaluate the work procedures of the regional work unit (SKPD) to realize the budgeted expenditures.

"It must be evaluated as a whole, what hinders the execution of this development. I hope it will not happen again, especially regarding a budget of this magnitude," said Anggara.

Furthermore, the chairman of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD admitted that his party would again propose to budget for the construction of the Youth Center in the discussion of the DKI Regional Budget for the 2023 fiscal year at the People's Welfare Commission.

"Later we will discuss how much Commission E will be budgeted again in 2023. We want the next few years to spread the youth arena evenly and there are no buildings that are not feasible," he said.
