RAIU - The Natuna Police of Riau Islands Province (Kepri) raided pharmacies and drug stores in the Ranai area following the temporary ban on sirop drugs for children to prevent the spread of acute kidney failure.

"Implementing raids and giving advice to drug stores or pharmacies not to sell liquid or sirop-shaped drugs," said Natuna Police Chief, AKBP Iwan Ariyandhy, through his official statement, quoted from Antara, Friday, October 21.

Iwan said this raid was in accordance with the Circular Letter (SE) of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Number SR.01.05/III/3461/2022 concerning the Obligation to Investigation Epidemiology and Reporting of Cases of Atypical Acute Kidney Disorders in Children. The SE is dated October 18, 2022.

Iwan said raids were also carried out to ensure that Natuna was free of acute kidney failure cases in children. So that raids and monitoring are carried out by his party which includes members of the Criminal Investigation Unit, the Narcotics Unit, to the ranks of the Sector Police.

"The raid on all pharmacies or drug stores in the Natuna Police jurisdiction is to prevent early prevention from causing casualties to our children in this border area," he said.

In this activity, the Natuna Police collaborated with the Natuna District Government Health Office. Efforts to socialize five sirop medicinal products withdrawn by BPOM because they are suspected of being the trigger for the case of atypical progressive acute kidney failure or attypical progressive acute childney injury (AKI) were also carried out.

"Together, we provide understanding and understanding and appeal to all drug stores or pharmacies not to display and sell liquid or sirop-shaped drugs," he said.

The five sirop brands whose circulation is withdrawn by BPOM, namely:

3. Unibebi COugh Sirup (cough and flu medicine), produced Universal Pharmaceutical Industries with distribution license number DTL72263037A1. Packaging Dus, Plastic bottles with a capacity of 60 ml.

4. Unibebi Sirup Fever ( fever medicine), production of Universal Pharmaceutical Industries with distribution license number DBL8726301237A1. Dus packaging, 60 ml capacity bottle.

5. Unibebi Fever Drops ( fever medicine), production of Universal Pharmaceutical Industries with distribution license number DBL1926303336A1. Packaging Dus, bottle capacity of 15 ml.
