The Presence Of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin In Singapore Is So Special For The Indonesian Diaspora

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma’ruf Amin had a dialogue with the Indonesian diaspora in Singapore. "The presence of Vice President Ma’ruf Amin means a lot to friends in the diaspora and it can be seen from the extraordinary enthusiasm of friends in the diaspora," said Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo in a statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, October 18. Ma'ruf Amin's presence was very special for the Indonesian diaspora in Singapore. The last visit of high-ranking Indonesian officials in the lion country was President Joko Widodo in April 2019. "So, for the past three years there have been no high-ranking officials," he said. The enthusiasm of citizens is very pronounced, said Suryo, especially for Indonesian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Singapore. As is known, many Indonesian citizens have businesses in Singapore, one of which is in the culinary field. "The direction conveyed by the Vice President is of course very much needed, especially because in Singapore it is not only big entrepreneurs who live here, but many Indonesian MSMEs," he explained. According to him, most of Indonesia's places to eat in Singapore are MSMEs that promote and bring products from Indonesia to be marketed in Singapore. "And thank God, so far they have received a good response from the market in Singapore and of course we must continue to maintain this," he said. Suryo hopes that Ma'ruf Amin's direction to the Indonesian diaspora group in Singapore can give an injection of encouragement so that they can be even more compact and contribute more in building the good image of Indonesia. "We hope that the direction from the Vice President will keep us enthusiastic. Once again, what we are facing in the future next year is not an easy year and only with a more innovative attitude, we want to collaborate, it will be the strength of this nation. Hopefully we will continue to be united and with the leadership of Mr. President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin we will be more united in facing this challenge," said Suryo Pratomo.
