Officially As Acting Governor Of DKI, Heru Kutip Slogan Jokowi: I Will Work, Work, Work!

Heru Budi Hartono has officially served as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta starting today. Heru admitted that he would immediately work to lead Jakarta.

To emphasize his remarks, the former Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres) also quoted President Joko Widodo's slogan, which is often echoed.

"I will work, work, work," said Heru after his inauguration as Acting Governor of DKI at the office of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Central Jakarta, Monday, October 17.

On this occasion, Heru thanked President Jokowi, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, to former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

Heru admitted that he would work to lead Jakarta based on the direction of the Minister of Home Affairs and the DKI Jakarta Regional Development Plan (RPD) for 2023-2026 which Anies and the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government had compiled.

"The Minister of Home Affairs has emphasized several points and we will include them in the program in 2023, including Mr. Anies submitting the RPD, later we will detail it. Of course, this is the beginning, which is good, good for the community. I will definitely continue," he explained.

Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian revealed that his party would evaluate Heru during his three-month lead in Jakarta. After one year, Tito revealed that Heru's position could be extended or replaced by other echelon I officials.

"The term of office is 1 year, but we will evaluate it every 3 months. After 1 year it can be continued by the same person or different person, depending on the results of the evaluation," said Tito.

For information, Heru's inauguration as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta which was held today is stated in the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia number 100/P of 2022 concerning the ratification of the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta for the term of office in 2017-2022 and the appointment of the Governor of DKI Jakarta.

Heru is not new to the scope of government in Jakarta. He started his career in 1993 by becoming a Civil Servant (PNS) with the position of Special Staff of the Mayor of North Jakarta.

Heru Budi has also held a number of important positions. For example, in 2014, Jokowi, who at that time was the Governor of DKI Jakarta, appointed him as Mayor of North Jakarta. After that he was appointed Head of BPKAD DKI in 2015.
